@Turbomeca: Do you have any proof of that? Otherwise, stop writing random model names! This is a very blurry picture, and because of that not much can be identified that makes it a proof of a particular model. This series of models were made in two different variants, the W108 and the W109. Some information can be seen in the links provided: http://sterntwiete.mparschau.de/html/mercedes_w108_9.html https://www.sl113.org/wiki/ http://www.heckflosse.nl/ Please study them in detail before making a comment, and please notice that model changes overlap. About this particular picture: - Blurry grille might point towards MY 1965-67, but a blurry capture might point anywhere. - Short rear door should indeed point towards a w108 model, but it's easy to misinterpret the capture. - The small hub caps with big chromed wheel embellishers usually points towards MY 1965-67, but it's easy to change wheels. - The grey paint (Arab Grey?, (Colour number 124 by Glasurit)) might point towards MY 1965-67 because there was an investigation in 1967 that argued certain colours were more dangerous than others. Hence they were less common 1968+. - Outside mounted rear view mirrors were compulosorary from MY 1968 because of U.S. legislation. Bigger ones were available from MB from 1968+. - Head rests were standard fittings from 1970 because of U.S. legislations. I can't see any. - The head lights doesn't say anything as they were available on U.S. cars from the early 60's, and was available as optional extras, as were the fog lights (yellow glass). Conclusion: Possibly a 1965-67 model that is not extended. That would mean a choise between 250 S, 250 SE and 300 SE. All W108's. 280 SE? Less likely! -- Last edit: 2020-12-24 15:54:56 |
