Pike Cars was not a subgenre, but a line of four Micra-based concept cars presented by Nissan in the mid-80s to early 90s and put into small production far outstripped by the demand. The Pike Factory experiment continued with cars like the Nissan Rasheen and is argued to have rippled into the Nissan Cube!
