Per wide hood ornament, fender script and bright windshield surround, this is a 53 Super Jet. |

1953 and 1954 Super Jets had the same side script and hood ornament. This car looks like a 1954. Note the ornamentation on the heavy, center, horizontal grille bar. The 1953's had a plain, smooth bar. On the other hand, the subject car appears to lack the side spear present on '54's. I think it should be listed as a 1954. Apparently, the spear was removed at some point. Any disagreement? |

Stands for another 2-star car where we can see Hudson radio: |

And I think it is the same but repainted in a 2-star role at 00:06:48 (sorry if I am mistaken): |

http://www.acceleratedrentals.com/ (they say it is a 1950 ): |

The vehicle was submitted as "Hudson Jet" - the base Jets lacked side script and had narrow hood ornaments. That's why I pointed it out as a Super Jet. It might be. The "ornamentations" looked like an effect caused by light to me, as only the passenger side appears to have it - but if you're more comfortable with 1954, then let's list it as such (remember to check the chassis code when you revert, it's 2D for the 54). However, if the car is the same as the "resprayed" one (notice missing rear passenger side doorhandle), I still think it's a 1953 as that car definitely appears to have the smooth grille bar (or wouldn't the grooves be visible at that distance/resolution?). -- Last edit: 2020-12-28 11:35:36 |

Your points are well-taken, Lateef. Based on lack of side trim, will return to a 1953 listing. |

The side trim could be (as you pointed out previously) outright missing as well - as this car doesn't even have any rear trim. |

I guess it would simply be best anyway to list as 1953 (first possible year) pending any better photos or other info. |
