The area in which the headlights are enclosed is painted in the body colour. I remember all Camargues I have seen had them in black. Could this one be a late Camargue ? |

This is not some mass produced standardised blankmobile, built to a set of options. It was, in its day, the most expensive Rolls-Royce model that was not a Phantom. They only built 531 in 11 years. If you had wanted one headlamp surround in pink and the other in puce they would have done it. -- Last edit: 2020-12-29 14:21:37 |

the footage in this sequence is oddly blurry compared to the other shots (flashback?) |

Seems to be an early one (pre-79) as no headlight wipers, and it might have the extra trim below door window (deleted at the same time). Noted from this Camargue summary that "Camargue Limited: The last 12 Camargues were painted white and provided with a lot of extra accessories. They were fitted with a badge "Camargue Limited" and exclusively sold on the USA market. They also celebrated the 80th anniversary of car sales in the USA.", but this one does not match the pictured example - normal wheel covers, black bumpers. So I guess owner-customised for the headlight surrounds and the vinyl roof. |
