Looks more like Franay to me, but the exhaust is on the wrong side of the engine for a Bentley. |

Bonnet ( hood ) louvres and the pipes remind me of some pre-war Delage's. No idea why Saoutchik was my first thought, as Figoni et Falaschi did a similar coachwork as well ( to my inexperienced eyes ), as well as probably several other french coachbuilders too ( I do think that at least the body for subject car might be more french than anything else ). The rear ( better seen in the 1st thumbnail ) , in particular, is almost a match for this Figoni et Falaschi-bodied 1939 Delage D6-70, but the front wings of the car and louvres don't match : https://uploads.carandclassic.co.uk/uploads/cars/delage/13646134.jpg Or maybe it is in fact this beauty : - Figoni et Falaschi-bodied Delage D8-120 Cabriolet, 1949 on 1939 chassis ( from coachbuild.com forum ) ?? Now I'm 99% sure it is by Figoni et Falaschi and it might be the very same car as in the picture above. -- Last edit: 2021-01-01 00:44:43 |
