A coachbuilt one. On a side-note, the contemporary Triumph Dolomite had similar frontal styling, while retaining its conservative British coachwork. |

Somehow odd-looking, in my opinion, but interesting nevertheless. The work was very likely carried out by Coachcraft of London. Some of their work ( including an identical looking 1936 model ) : https://www.coachbuild.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=388&t=9711 |

Small book entry for Coachcraft says they started in 1934, set up and managed by Percy Twigg - great name! - and ... um ... branched out into contracts for small UK manufacturers, winning most of the work from Railton for the Fairmile DHC and several of their saloons. They also did Hudsons, Terraplanes, Delages (which was apparently a speciality) and a handful of Rolls-Royces. Alongside this, they got work from Southern Coachworks to offer updated bodies on older chassis, particularly Rolls-Royces again. They collapsed immediately after WW2, and the remains were bought by University Motors (MG dealer) in 1946 and renamed University Coachwork, who did more Railtons and some Lea-Francis and Bristols for a few years. |
