So that's why they're driving on the left, before the 1967 switchover ..... Useless fact I saw on telly the other week - 2022 will be the 300th anniversary of the first law anywhere in the world which defined which side of the road traffic should drive on. It was apparently enacted due to congestion on the narrow roadway through the buildings on the medieval London Bridge and specified driving on the left, which gradually spread outwards for the rest of Britain. |
