This is a pre face lift so the possibility of being a 2007 is still present. Pre face lift 2007s were built from approximately August of 2006 to January of 2007. I'll try and confirm with the VIN. No way is this a 2008 - either a 2006.5 or a 2007. The checkhistory link has gone, but other plate sites say Automatic and give emissions 187 g/km which was the figure for the 1.8 138bhp automatic VVT (140 PS) upgrade from June 06 - previously 207 g/km for the auto from launch with 123bhp in May 04. Then in Jan 2008 there was a recalibration to 184 g/km for the auto. Manuals followed similar sequence but with different figures. So if a pre-facelift, this car was built in a short window June 06 until the facelift, which Glass's gives as Nov 06. If the VIN says 2008, it's pants. |

On what we can see, car was built before November 06. Therefore something is wrong with the VIN, or the plate info or both. The VIN build date makes no sense against this for my or build date; the plate info may be wobbly (implies that car had hung around in the system unregistered for several months) but the emissions figure will be solid for the plate, as it has various legal implications for vehicle taxes and subsequent MoT testing. The only stand-alone explanation which doesn't involve any other factor is that the VIN is inaccurate or corrupted for whatever reason - process or simply dodgy data entry. |
