Is it me or does it have the plate inside? |

Yes, I don't know if they do that in other countries, but in the US sometimes people put a special piece of paper in their back window that has their License number on it until they can get a real plate. This usually only happens when people have just bought a car from a dealership. -- Last edit: 2008-01-06 00:15:59 |

In France in old times (i.e. more than 20 years ago) they were writing the number with chalk on a black plate, but I dot not know how it works now. In Belgium you cannot take the car on the road without the plate, and you cannot get the plate without insurance. So you usually go get the insurance, then get your plate from the DIV before taking the car from the dealership (or you just take the plate from your previous car, as it is linked to the owner rather than to the car). -- Last edit: 2008-01-06 00:22:13 |

Taxiguy is 100% correct, this is a "30 Day Tag" on a brand new car. |

It may also be a rental car as the "E"sticker for Enterprise Car Rental is on the left corner of the trunk lid. |

Jetta in the USA -> built in Mexico! PS. This generation Jetta -> built in Mexico only, actually, for all markets except China, where they have a locally-built model called Sagitar. -- Last edit: 2008-01-06 14:11:50 |
