Busmar Astral II, carrying on the fine tradition of coachbuilding in Blackpool. No trace of 946JPP at swansea, a 1959 Bucks' plate. If it were me, I'd want a 6T Thunderbird to pull something that big around. ![]() |

Were they an offshoot from SS? |

I've found a brief reference claiming they were founded by John Wills and bill Lyons, in 1950. https://cybermotorcycle.com/euro/brands/busmar-sidecars.htm Apologies for the awful spacing, my return key has packed in. |

SS, Burlingham, Busmar, any more? -- Last edit: 2021-02-05 22:29:59 |

No worries. Since the SS sidecar business was sold off by Jaguar in 1946, either the lady is mistaken, (please forgive the suggestion) or Lyons wanted to, or was prevailed upon to, continue a business based on sidecars in Blackpool, maybe loyalty to old colleagues. Not being bike oriented, I hadn’t heard of Busmar. -- Last edit: 2021-02-05 22:28:21 |
