I know they were offered police packages, that's why I mentioned them. I've always thought it was ridiculous to use any non-full-size car as a police car, but that's just me...
Ford_Guy ◊ 2008-01-11 01:27	I have heard from many police officers of how great the Malibu 9C1's were. According to them, they were fast, nimble, and easy to maneuver. I was talking to a deputy the other day that's been on the job since the mid 70's. Of all the vehicles he's driven since then (Nova's, Ford "baby" LTD's, Caprices, Crown Victorias), he said that the best car was the Malibu. But it's all a matter of opinion, of course.
taxiguy ◊ 2008-01-11 01:32	Well it's true that smaller cars would be easier to maneuver and handle than a giant Caprice or Crown Vic, but I have trouble believing a Celebrity or Corsica is "fast". A Malibu could be fast though, if it had a V8...

cieraguy ◊ 2008-01-12 09:33	I can see using a car like this if outright speed and size isn't important but the simple task of transporting an officer to the scene of a crime is needed... especially in an urban area and with $3 a gallon gas. When equipped with a 3.1 liter these cars are actually fairly quick... the handling still sucks though. This Corsica is a 1991-1993 LT BTW. -- Last edit: 2008-01-12 09:38:26
