Second car on the right is an Austin 1100/1300. What's the difference between the two?

It’s the same car with minor trim and body changes, and a 1275cc engine instead of 1098.

It's a Mk1 ADO16 for rear lights which was sold as Morris 1100. Local builds later developed into versions not seen in UK during Mk2 era, including a Maxi-engined saloon (Morris 1500) and hatch (Morris Nomad).

^ The whole product planning and decision making processes at BMC/BL during that period give cause for thought. They had some half decent building blocks but seemingly not enough cash or imagination to make better use of them. The addition of a bit of quality might also have been a good plan.

Ok, so your engine is slightly oversized. Fair enough.
