I wish there was a way on here we could have car companies who renamed but kept the same product lines on the same page. For example, listing Ward, AmTran, and IC together. Unless we merged them all together under one like the Make being 'Ward/AmTran/IC' instead of 3 individual makes. -- Last edit: 2021-04-09 21:51:07 |

Founded into 1933. In 1980, Ward filed for bankruptcy and was reorganized as American Transportation Corporation (AmTran) keeping the Ward brand name in use on school buses. In 1991, AmTran was acquired by Navistar International, with the Ward name phased out during 1992. Today, International produces school buses using its IC Bus subsidiary (the successor to AmTran). Whichever one is used also depends on the powerplant (International, Ford, GM, etc) being used so combining them into a single entity is a non-starter. -- Last edit: 2021-04-09 23:22:01 |
