With the name dispacher, it probably was a mail truck. |

Jeep stamped in tailgate means it is pre-AM General. |

I was the Art Director on Guyver Dark Hero. It was a hoot to find this old jeep listed here! I loved that damn thing. It was a right hand drive postal jeep we bought off craigslist for $600. It ran like a top. I drove it from the stage in Van Nuys up to the location in Angeles National forest. It was pretty squirmy on the freeway. Anything above 50 mph felt like you were cheating death. But off road it was a blast. I painted it up (including painted "dirt" for shot continuity) We were on location for almost a month. When not in a shot, we used it as the art department car, shuttling crew, props, and actors. I made them wait until the last day before they had the Zoanoids flip it over. Sadly, after they flipped it, I could never get it to start again. Special Note: the main image of it rolling down the hill was actually a 1/8 scale model of it. --Coburn Hawk |

Interesting, because Craigslist wasn't around until 1995. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craigslist |
