Why? Chrome bezels were offered in ‘78 on the top trim level. |

There's been confusion because in the past someone kept adding that info, but the brochure shows it was just the lower trims, the higher trims had square headlights: 1978 brochure: http://www.fordification.com/library/index.php?/category/278 For 1979, the Custom trim also added the rectangular headlights: Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" -- Last edit: 2021-05-02 03:03:29 |

i thought this long time before i joined the site part of my confusion might be caused by me thinking ( or was told to me ) that my RC truck was based on a 1979 .. ( pic is not mine but is identical ) -- Last edit: 2021-05-02 03:34:43 |

I remember seeing this truck a couple times on set and I asked my buddy just now about it since I saw this thread, and he actually told me there were 2 trucks, which I did not know... The truck on camera was a 1978, the process trailer one is a 1974, which I just found out he still has on his lawn today. The only other thing I could remember hearing about this truck at the time was that it was 3 different trucks to make 1 (The 78) That's about all I know. |
