night cub ◊ 2021-06-02 20:40	How did I not know this: All Golfs/Rabbits and GTIs as of 2006 are manufactured in Wolfsburg, Germany, rather than Puebla, Mexico, where Golfs and GTIs for the North American market were produced from 1989 to 1998, and the Brazilian factory in Curitiba, where Golfs and GTIs were produced from 1999 to 2006 I thought they were still made in Mexico, never realized they moved production to Brazil, then back to Germany. Checking VIN's for Golf IV in the US and finding a mix of German and Brazilian made Golfs out there. The 1999s seem to be all German made, then 2000+ Brazilian ones, but still finding a handful of German ones in 2000, 2001, 2002 -- Last edit: 2021-06-02 20:59:39
