It's this 1936 Cross & Ellis Tourer - highly original, unrestored, only had 2 owners, last one since 1960, who took it to Australia. https://www.classic-trader.com/uk/cars/listing/alvis/speed/speed-25/1936/208956 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxKqZIQ60Os&t=282s . No info on those pages for plate or chassis no. However, rear seen in another of their sales videos with DGW 594 plate, which leads to this 2017(?) Australian listing, apparently with Aus plate DGW 59 - "Alvis 1937 Speed 25 4-door tourer. Originally bought at the Scottish Motor Show. Concourse condition. One of only 19 existing with Cross & Ellis bodywork. Recently fitted with a new all-aluminium cylinder head. Includes original drivers handbook with matching engine numbers as supplied with car in 1937. Also has spare JD6 magneto, new tank for one-shot chassis lubrication system, spare handle for the built-in jack system and new genuine Alvis tool bag. The car has won many trophies including most desirable car and most elegant vehicle. One owner for last 56 years ..... $330,000" |
