There was not a specific series of the Simca P60 that most of it was destined for Eastern countries? |

I honestly don´t know about the specific series or names in Eastern (Central) European countries, if there were any. I only know that Simca had decent sales in Hungary since the late 1950s (probably sales were not that bad in Poland and CS as well). |

I find it! The Simca Aronde Bacalan...It was a series of 750 units of the prototype of the P60 Aronde... source: Wikipedia: "but when shown to Simca's CEO, he was outraged and ordered them to disappear immediately. The unfortunate cars were sent to Bordeaux, Bacalan dock, for storage. An agreement was reached to send about 500 of them to Hungary and Czechoslovakia, and another 100 cars for Germany" |

Nice research! Indeed there was. I vaguely remember seeing that plain de-trimmed Aronde with those unique bumpers somewhere, but I never knew that they were actually exported to some COMECON countries. That being said, the Aronde P60 in the main picture seems to have normal/standard bumpers, except for this one, which most likely have these curved ´Bacalan´ bumpers -- Last edit: 2021-07-10 02:52:11 |
