Could be "Hino Renault" indeed... Is that the Hino logo on the rear? |

This logo was mutual for both Hino and Renault - http://auta5p.eu/muzea/toyota_museum_2007/tam_14.htm But unlike Renault, which was produced until 1961, Hino was in production until 1967. And the front wheel is for me unknown, from all models of 4CV. Older models were with these wheels - http://auta5p.eu/srazy/slavkov_2002/slavkov_122.htm and later models with these - http://auta5p.eu/srazy/slavkov_2002/slavkov_128.htm And the rear lamps were always smaller on the older models - http://auta5p.eu/srazy/slavkov_2002/slavkov_123.htm and also on the later models - http://auta5p.eu/vystavy/brno_sm_2001/sm_62.htm And on all Hino and Renault models until the beginning of 1960s is the rear logo very massive and made from metal. This looks like "red sticker" rather. So my opinion is, that this car is one of the latest Hino 4CV models from the end of 1960s. |

There were two different 4CVs, one in the driving scenes and the one in the main picture that is blown up:![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-02-07 18:56:28 |

But Hinos had bigger bumpers, a bigger rear window, a tank filler cap just down the right corner of the rear window and also different rear lights (about the size of the French ones, but smoother). |

Looks like a Saigon taxi, so French 4cv from the French Indochina period |

The Vietnam scenes were filmed in Thailand. The car has been painted and dressed to look like a Saigon taxi for the film. |
