Same here, Vedette Trianon or Ariane? Or could it perhaps even be Ford Vedette? -- Last edit: 2005-12-21 23:47:36 |

Sixcyl, these early Vedettes with this body. Were they ever sold as Ford in France? I´m asking because here in Sweden they sold as Ford for at least 1955. |

Up to me there were never sold as FORD in France. There were presented on Ford stand at 1954 Paris motor show (Salon de Paris - Porte de....Versailles! )but Simca made the first productions in Poissy which became a SIMCA factory in the beginning of 1955. Maybe for exportation FORD name have been used for a little while, SIMCA make beeing less known in foreign countries? That means if we had a Vedette Trianon/Versailles or Regence appearing in a Swedish 1955 movie we sould name it as a Ford |

...heu...en fait le salon 54 n'était pas Porte de Versailles, mais encore au Grand Palais ... mille excuses pour cette petite bourde les amis ! |

Simca only bought Ford France, so cars in Sweden were built and sold by "another" Ford I guess... |

They were built by Simca in the old Ford factory and during a period they sold under the Ford brand through swedish Ford dealers, and maybe on some other markets too. I´m not sure of the exact time when they became Simca here, maybe 56 and definately 57. The new importer ANA built the Aronde at their assembly plant in Nyköping. |
