Seems to be a tow truck or a chassis cab |

Silverado-based? |

Yes, probably, with these orange lights and seeing the style of the rear, not really a pickup. |

In french and in english do you consider trucks like these with platforms for cars on the rear in where the car has to be towed with a cable up to it as tow trucks? |

Chassis-cab anyway. But for our categories, the chassis-cab is used for light ones and the towing truck for heavy ones (the latter category was made for vehicles like the one seen in Terminator II, or for trucks which carry the car rather than hauling it). |

Yes but out of the site, coloquially how do you call these? |

"dépanneuse" in French, I do not know if there are precise therms for the various kind of these vehicles or if they are all called in the same way, but I'd say that this name is rather for those hauling the car; if the car is carried it is a "camion-plateau" I think. -- Last edit: 2008-02-11 00:24:23 |
