I was hoping an expert would shed some light on this... I think it's closer to 1924, but I know very little about pre-1930s stuff. |

Are the tires too modern looking or did they really look like that? |

Window frame cowl lights place this at 1920 at the earliest. The Big Six of that year and 1921-22 would have the tiebar between the headlights, assuming it's been left unchanged for 80 years. 20-22 Special Six would also have the tiebar between the headlights but would have oval cowl lamps by the windscreen frame and integrated frame lamps as in the main image for 22. Easiest way to tell them apart is the headlight rings: 20-21 Big Six squared off lamps, 20-21 Special Six regular, 20-21 Light Six regular but windscreen has no integrated lights. All 20-21s have central mounted tiebars so that lets them out. For 1923 the entire line got the frame-integrated cowl lamps. Big Six still had the tiebar on top but the radiator was now nickeled instead of black. For lack of contemporary research material, I am bravely going to assume the Special Six remained unchanged. -> 1923 Light Six. The answer's simple, explaining it not so much! -- Last edit: 2024-08-18 19:55:28 |
