The owner of this car, Jüri Vaikjärv, was one of the founding fathers of the Club Unic, the (Soviet) Estonian vintage car club. He passed away on February 29 at the age of 77. https://forum.automoto.ee/attachment.php?aid=101117 "A Ford T after almost 40 years under the earth. So this much was left of the car. Jüri Vaikjärv took over the restoration. It took three years." https://forum.automoto.ee/attachment.php?aid=101116 "A last view under the hood - and the former taxi is once again ready to roll." -- Last edit: 2024-03-05 16:28:51 |

Probably evading requiration. The Soviets confiscated hundreds of vehicles - cars, trucks, motorcycles and even bicycles - as they fled from the Nazis near the end of the first occupation of 1940/41. There's even a detailed list of all vehicles confirmed missing, wanted or found: http://eag.vanatehnika.ee/soda-otsimised1941-42.html http://eag.vanatehnika.ee/soda-nats-evak1941tabel.html |
