1951 indeed (new grille, new rear fenders). Because of the length of the front and the long chrome strips on the front fenders I'd go for an Ambassador Custom [5178]. |

Yes, it's an Ambassador Custom from '51. Isn't it the oddest thing that police departments chose that car? They were softly sprung family sedans with average engines. Yet you see them in lots of movies as police cars. The Frank Sinatra movie, "Suddenly" has swarms of '52 and '53 Nash police cars. |
