You're right. I think it's better to list like that because between 1963 and 1967 in Spain was named '4L'. After that year, it was only '4' (Super, TL, GTL...)

 @chicomarx: It is not a whim of mine, as Pedro has said very well, in Spain, this model was NEVER called "R4" but 4L, 4L Super or just 4 ... The same happened with the Renault 8, which was never called in Spain " R8 "... The proof that the trade name was that in Spain are the numerous FASA catalogs of the time.  I understand ... In my opinion the L should necessarily appear in the name since from 1963 to 1968, with the new grill it was called 4L and 4L Super ... Then only 4 and 4 Super ...
