'ACL Rodéo 4' sounds to be a modern naming: these cars were indeed sold by the Renault dealers on the general public catalogue, with the losange on the grille and the full Renault Rodéo 4 brand at the tail. ACL, known only then by the car specialists, was just mentionned on a little badge, as the coachbuilder, as it was on some of the commercial vehicles from the Renault range. |

You´re right, I think. The brochures (catalogues) refer to them as Renault Rodeo :![]() ![]() But they were constructed (as assigned by Renault for a competition in order to compete with Citroen´s Mehari) by Atelier de Construction du Livradois (ACL), which as I understand was their original design, not Renault´s. https://www.la4ldesylvie.fr/renault-rodeo-4-et-6 According to the same source, Renault badges first appeared on July 1976 (on both Rodeo 4 and Rodeo 6 models), but we can´t know what badges it has with this view, so we go for the earlier model. |
