The visible roof gutter which stretches to the rear window is one of the indications that it is a longer wheel-base model. On SWB models, it's absent. 700 (short wheelbase): https://www.oldtimerteile.net/pictures/xxl/9-067.jpg 700 LS (long wheelbase): http://www.ausmotive.com/images/BMW-700-04.jpg Rear badges are also different on SWB and LWB models : 700 and 700 LS. BMW logo is located in the middle (on SWB models), whereas the logo on LWB models, is located lower. There is also a difference of hood trim design (I mean the rear we're looking at from this picture, since the car is of course rear-engined). |

Also based purely on those 4 comparison photos (because I don't know the 700 details to confirm any further) it looks as if the LS not only has a longer wheelbase, but also has a longer boot. Which means the LS (LWB) has a gap between the end of the bumper wrapround (as also visible in the film capture) but the SWB bumper end reaches the arch. Presumably it's the same bumper on both versions, so the gap demonstrates the length of the boot extension?? |
