The burgundy car in the lead is a Lotus 19 (aka Monte Carlo, by the colour and racing number probably Jack Nethercutt's 1961 Climax-engined one), the metallic-coloured spider behind it is an Elva Mk 6. The #97 is an American-built special, the #31 is the Balchowsky Ol’ Yaller IX. The white car behind the Corvette reminds me of another special, called Twareg. For the last car in the pack I have no guess… |

The Elva and Lotus are closer, I'd rather pick these |

if that is no 15 it is indeed an Elva Mk 6 http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Riverside-1963-10-13.html |

..... but #15 Elva did not qualify for the race according to your link. Again you may well have correct year/series and maybe the car, but probably not the event. |

According to http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Riverside-1963-10-13.html 97 is Road Runner II (Chevrolet 4920cc), driven by: Rick Lewis - finished 11th (my first glance was Cobra, but it's Cobra-ish, not a proper one). 31 = Ol'Yaller MkIX (7003cc), driven by Ronnie Bucknum, but again did not qualify. So this must be a qualification race ahead of the main event. |
