BREAKING GROUND ON OUR FIRST American factory On September 25, 2015, Volvo Cars broke ground on its first US plant in Ridgeville, Berkeley County, South Carolina. The plant is the production home of the all new S60 mid-size sedan, and it will produce the next generation XC90 sport utility vehicle around 2022. With the two car lines, the plant has the capacity to produce up to 150,000 cars annually. The American-built S60s are exported around the world through the Port of Charleston. https://www.volvocars.com/us/about-volvo/our-story/south-carolina-factory |

How does Volvo avoid the massive import duties the EU lays on American cars? |

Presumably the same arrangements as BMW use?? And does EU still get US-built Merc SUVs?? |
