:D I like how you know what car Elvis drove to finalize his divorce. Colonel Parker is a much more interesting figure than Elvis. He emigrated from Holland without money or papers, possibly to escape a police investigation, which is the reason Elvis never did any concerts in Europe. He always claimed his Dutch accent was "a southern accent" and people actually believed it.

All because of ruthless promotion, because the man himself was not particularly intelligent or had an exceptional voice. There were better singers that never made it.

To me, almost everyone on earth is more interesting than Elvis, so his standing in that table is totally irrelevant. He just doesn’t matter.

I always thought his brother Reg was the more talented one. And funnier (but beware of some "industrial" language if you have sensitive ears).

They are even less relevant to current life than Elvis.

No it doesn’t. It just shows that the expression “common herd” is correct, these people are like sheep, they follow in line the other idiots because they have been robbed of any individual thinking by reading too much social media hype.

jfs has a point... there is way more than likely people who watched it because X sent the link to Y who told Z to watch it...
Is that a reason to be rude to an another user because he disagrees ? not really... while we're free to express our views we're not YT's comments section either .

If jfs has no interest in Elvis, its up to him , just like it is to you to do have interest in him.

well.. i do wear my sheep suit each time i get on Youtube...
I see social media as an international popularity contest too ( just the meeting between Will Smith's right hand and Chris Rock's left cheek has more than 110 million views, only on YT and after searching in english & french )

Does Elvis has an international fan base ? of course, he has a big place in music history

After a lifetime working in the engineering industry, you should hear me when I’m really concentrating on being rude. The above comments show me in the wimpish mode I reserve for shop assistants, bus conductors, and those who can’t answer back.

He was popular here.... I think PM Koizumi visiting Graceland is a testament to how big he is in Japan :p

If you're claiming royal ancestry almost everyone in England today is a descendant of Edward III.

In a century or two, almost everyone in England will be a descendant of Boris Johnson.

I know exactly where 4 of my 8 great grandparents lived, but if you think I am going to tell you, you are an even greater fantasist than you appear from your ramblings. FYI, however all of the 4 within the boundary of the great county of Staffordshire. 3 of the remainder I cannot be exact, but again within this county.

The limo parked in the driveweay of Elvis' 1174 Hillcrest Dr, LA home, a property which was bought in 2019 for US$25.3m, the buyer being Harry Morton the owner of the Hard Rock Cafe chain.

Here is a look at Elvis Presley as he exits the 1969 Mercedes 600 Pullman to enter his Convair 880 jet and his wife heads back to the Continental
