A Consul MY 1959+. Anyone with a deaper knowledge into if cars that competed were bog standard or tuned? As competing in rallye, I'd imagine it could have had a Raymond Mays conversion with alloy head, twin carbs and headers, but the RM sign was usually very small, if there was one at all. -- Last edit: 2022-04-17 22:19:31 |

605 JBH was Bucks, June-July 59. #36 in 59/60/61 Monte Carlos was not a Consul, which would have been a strange choice for rallying, particularly as Ford were using Zephyrs. |

I don't know if Ford used Zephyrs only, weren't there different classes depending on engine sizes? As #36 is clearly visible, and as you stated "#36 in 59/60/61 Monte Carlos was not a Consul", is this not showing a real Monte Carlo start? Edit: I believe I've read somewhere that the starting position was (always, usually, sometimes?) on a raised platform. |
