Made in Mexico. If it is an F-250, then it would have to be a 1999 model as it was the only year that the F-250 was offered with this bodystyle, at least here in the US. But I believe that the full-amber front turn signal means that it's a newer model. Perhaps a 2003/04+ Mexican F-250? |

If I remember right the modern "sleek" F-150 was offered in light-duty F-250 form (with F-250 badges) for the 1997 and 1998 model years only, in the USA. Afterward the light-duty F-250 was no longer needed when the F-250 Super Duty came along for the 1999 model year – in Mexico they make the old F-150 along side the light-duty F-250. But I don’t know when Mexico got the light-duty F-250. The one in the capture is no less than a 1999 model due to the three-piece front bumper. -- Last edit: 2008-03-27 22:24:07 |

Yes, it's a 250. It says 250 on the fender. |

Neptune, do you know when the full-amber turn signals came? I've seen it on only a few trucks. |

I don’t know the exact year they came to be. I believe they were cheap versions of the clear turn signals and were used on some commercial Ford F-150s starting in 1998 as a 1999 models. I have seen them made for E-Series vans too. This Ford Expedition from Swordfish (2001) has them: /vehicle_138000-Ford-Expedition-UN93-1999.html |

In what sense are they cheaper? |

This is an F-150 4X4, note the 5 lug wheels, 1997/04 -- Last edit: 2008-03-28 00:55:48 |

Its newer than a 1997 due to the three-piece front bumper design which appeared for the 1999 model year. The lower front valance was increased in size with a larger center air-intake slot. The truck shown does not have fog lamps. -- Last edit: 2008-03-28 02:25:07 |

Since this is a truck built in Mexico, they probably have what we would deem "mismatched" parts. |

Indeed, that’s entirely possible, >> Garco, I would like some more detailed captures of the Ford if they are available. Assuming that because it’s a three star vehicle, there should be. -- Last edit: 2008-03-29 01:37:09 |

I will check. |

I see now, it changes from this vehicle in this (/vehicle_165048-Ford-F-150-1995.html) vehicle. Anyway, here are some additional pictures, seems to be F-250 on the fender... -- Last edit: 2008-03-29 13:54:52 |

Thanx for the extra pictures garco ... The front end is as I suspected – post 1999 model. It also shows no fog lamps, just as I suspected in an earlier comment. This one is likely a 2004 model. Due to its updated grille (which the U.S. version did not get) It’s not a 2007 or 2008 model as it does not the updated headlamps and turn signal/ parking lamps. It is a Base XL version, very similar to the U.S. Base XL (picture below) -- Last edit: 2008-03-31 03:44:53 |

If this is a '04 it is a F150 Heritage Edition XL. The new generation came out for '04. Ford also sold the previous generation in the U.S. for '04 as the Heritage Edition. These were mostly V-6 XL's. The new generation '04 was only sold with V-8s. For '05 the Heritage edition was gone and the new generation came standard with the V-6. -- Last edit: 2008-03-31 01:50:25 |

I don’t recall there ever being a Heritage for Mexico – seeing as how this generation of Ford F-150 is still produced there. The 2004 model Heritage you are referring too should not be confused with the 100th Anniversary 1903-2003 Heritage Edition, made for the 2003 model year only (Shown below) -- Last edit: 2008-03-31 04:14:10 |

Why is everybody ignoring my comment that F-250 was on the fender? You can see it on the 2nd thumbnail in my message from 29th March 2008. Or do I need glasses? |
◊ 2008-03-31 19:34 |
I can't read the name on the fender, so I can't answer to any of your two questions |
◊ 2008-03-31 19:36 |
Let's wait until some Americans wake up then |
◊ 2008-03-31 22:01 |
... Sorry garco, my ignoring of your comment was unintentional. That thumbnail does show F-250 on the front fender. It seems the Mexican Ford LD (Light-Duty) F-250 does not double-up on the lugs, like the short-lived American version did. That does encourage the question what changes mechanically on the Mexican Ford LD F-250 to make it a 250 over the 150. |

Thanks for the information, no bad feelings... |

Here is a photo of a 2008 Ford F-250 Regular Cab XLT R It shows five lugs – also note the Sport Wheels. They were featured on the 2001 Ford Expedition XLT-No Boundaries and the 2003 Ford F-150 SuperCab 100th Anniversary 1903-2003 Heritage Edition /vehicle_140494-Ford-Expedition-UN93-2001.html -- Last edit: 2008-03-31 22:52:48 |
