Well this is strange. It's a Laredo by the plastic cladding, yet Laredos did not get these wheels until 2002. If it was filmed in 2001, it might be plausible but I think I recall reading that filming was in 2000 so that wouldn't make sense. Strange that they would swap the wheels on an almost new car, or perhaps I'm mistaken. If released in December 2001 you've got the whole year for filming. Would also go well with the brand new 2000 XJR and ML430. |

Gamer those wheels started in 1999: https://www.originalwheels.com/jeep-wheels/grandcherokee1999rims.php Another site confirming year range: https://www.wheelsandcaps.com/p-20703-aluminum-wheel-rim-16x7-9028.aspx |

On the Limited, yes. But as I said, by the plastic cladding this is a Laredo, which did not get these wheels until 2002. |

Were they not even an optional extra on the Laredo? -- Last edit: 2019-09-12 20:18:58 |

They swapped the wheels over is my guess then. Sorry I misunderstood what you meant at first. Edit: or it was an option like Sandie said. -- Last edit: 2019-09-12 20:19:11 |

They were, yes, but not until 2002. Trying to say this the whole time. -- Last edit: 2019-09-12 20:20:35 |

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm asking, I'm suggesting that 1999-2001 they might have been an optional extra (rather than a standard feature like in 2002). They certainly seem to be far from unusual on Laredo spec GCs from before 2002: http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/41791343.html http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/49362046.html http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/92917126.html |

according to a 2000 brochure , no but ther might be a common swap, a little bit like Mustang's 5-spoke Pony wheels make their way on older models |

But this is almost a new car. I hardly believe the wheels would already be exchanged. Maybe there was a package that made the Limited wheels available before 2002? In 1999 they were only available on the Limited: Link to "www.picclickimg.com" Same story in 2000: Link to "www.picclickimg.com" In 2001 they weren't available at all: Link to "www.picclickimg.com" I don't have the 2002 brochure, but by 2003 they were the only wheels available for the Laredo: Link to "www.picclickimg.com" -- Last edit: 2019-09-12 20:49:03 |
