Strange model name. Would 'Gukje Shibal replica' be better? |

I'd like to see a badge or a chassis id plate to see how the name fits |

Front looks like this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:20141005_Gukje_Shibal_1.jpg And I think it should be "Gukje Shibal Replica" too... Emphasis on the replica since it looks like this is the mint replica listed on the Korean Wikipedia: Link to "ko.wikipedia.org" |

We have en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibal_(car) listed in the English Wikipedia there as well. We have a few replica were made: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Gukje_Shibal |

Shibal or Sibal? From the Wikipedia page the name is 시발 which I would have translated to Sibal, but I don't know what is the most common transliteration for that. Also, is 'Gukje' (국제) really the name? This seems to mean 'International' but sometimes also used as name. The Korean page of the car Link to "ko.wikipedia.org" has the mention 국제차량제작 which may be 'International vehicle manufacturing' or 'Gukje vehicle manufacturing', but that's rather the company name than a make name to me. Same when translating the page of that name: Link to "ko-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog" There it uses 'Kukje' (and 'Shibal'), and on the Wiki Commons category page they have also Kookjea Sibal as make & model: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Gukje_Shibal Just two other ways to transliterate the term (G & K are both ㄱ, U is ㅜ) As Jnglmpera suggested on the forum, shouldn't it be just 'Sibal' or 'Shibal' as make then ? -- Last edit: 2022-06-30 09:16:11 |

Perhaps our Korean members can help. |

That goes with Shinjin (신진) which it literally translates as Sinjin. It is how they say it by the mouth. See at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_phonology |
