I wouldn't bet on this being an IHC Metro Van. This is strictly aftermarket and built on a stripped chassis. |

This may sound lame, but when I was a kid, the scene where this van and the camper have a chase was my favorite scene in the movie, and I've wondered what this thing was, since I had seen vans similar to it but never exactly like it. |

Made up my mind to peg it an IH Metro. Compare its front end to this: /vehicle_175792-International-Harvester-Metro-Van.html Despite the short wheelbase and elongated back end, the front is IH Metro enough that, stripped-down and rebuilt chassis or not, it had to have been an IH Metro at some point in my opinion. Feel free to disagree, though. I just don't want this thing to be forever unknown like the bus in If Looks Could Kill. -- Last edit: 2008-12-17 17:31:18 |

This is not a customized international harvester metro van or a homemade step van this is a dodge p series compare it to the other dodge p series in moves and tv series the only difference is the rear view mirrors. |

But you wrote this just five minutes ago: /vehicle.php?id=240780 You're contradicting yourself... -- Last edit: 2011-11-12 23:17:12 |

But I later noticed that Avan was written on the grill of this one /vehicle_240780-Avan.html |

No, you didn't, you noticed the Avan badge when they told you on the other page and that was after you wrote here. Also the van on this page doesn't have a badge, how could you know that this is an Avan if you don't even know what one looks like, let alone exists??? |

nearly everything except the grill headlights and turn signals match this Ford step van /vehicle_84938-Ford-Postal-Van.html witch looks like this Avan /vehicle_240780-Avan.html meaning that the Ford step van is Avan bodied, and I know that this is Dodge chassis because the front matches this /vehicle_390988-Dodge-P-Series.html witch has a Dodge badge. |

The van in this picture doesn't look anything like that Ford... |
Jonsmellmyfart ◊ 2011-11-14 03:04 |
It matches this /vehicle_390988-Dodge-P-Series.html witch has a dodge logo, the reason I think the both of them are Avan bodied is because the Ford Step van witch is Avan bodied /vehicle_84938-Ford-Postal-Van.html is because its windshield, the window on the door, and the window in between the door and the windshield match this one. -- Last edit: 2011-11-14 03:37:41 |

Different roofs (curved vs flat), different wheel arches, different placements of windscreen wipers, different placement of side markers, different bumpers, different wheelbase and I don't find the windows as convincing as you seem to do... I'm not saying that this can't be an Avan, I don't know enough about them to make that call, I'm just saying that this one doesn't look anything like that Ford. |

Well the body is hard to figure out, however the chassis must be Dodge because it matches this one witch has a Dodge logo above the grill /vehicle_390988-Dodge-P-Series.html |

I will agree that it matches the Dodge. |

I think This one is probably a 1970+, because the 1970 model is a perfect match http://delrio.craigslist.org/cto/2652800614.html while the 1960s ones looked somewhat different http://msamericanpi.bravehost.com/dodge.htm -- Last edit: 2011-12-15 22:09:14 |
