That’s really helpful. It’s a blue car. |

I would think that headrest and mirror would be clues |

If it has a role it's legitimate to post it and see what we can make of it. And it looks as if it is a significant moment to register with someone watching the programme as a potential "I wonder what that was" query, which is basically the purpose of the site. If something is impossible, even after our collective brains have tossed it around, then so be it. Our hypothetical visitor can see that we've tried our best, but been unable to resolve it. Window shapes made me think Ford at first glance (Cortina Mk4/5 or Granada Mk2), but mirror and hollow headrest don't match. I don't think it's a Cavalier for same reasons. I think it's 4 or 5 door and maybe a Japanese mirror (although that's very wobbly suggestion), but can't say much more. |

Hollow headrest was on Cortina Mk V up to GL, as per JVT 586V, my own MkV 2.0 GL in Midnight Blue with light blue trim. At this time my gaffer had a MkV 2.0 Ghia, in the same colours, and I snaffled the headrest fillers when the firm sold it on. So it might be a Cortina V, the dates fit. On the other hand, that mirror looks very odd. Shortly after, I got an Escort 1.6GL on the firm, B34 EWP. I really can’t see any Cavalier Mk2 here. /vehicle_1427089-Vauxhall-Cavalier-1983.html /vehicle_284928-Vauxhall-Cavalier-1987.html -- Last edit: 2022-06-15 17:59:54 |

MkV Cortina Estate (the chrome strip above the side windows would continue down the A pillar on a saloon). |

Agreed (except that GL has chrome on pillar) and this one. So this mirror in window corner is Mk5 only - Mk4 was on stalk from body. Should have gone with first instincts for Cortina, but just couldn't make it fit .... |
