-- Last edit: 2006-01-09 20:52:32 |

bah deux images c'est mieux qu'une, je remets celle d'origine alors (sinon l'indication h:m:s pour la position de la capture n'est plus bonne) -- Last edit: 2006-01-09 20:54:04 |

As this film was released in 1988 it cannot be a Defender. This name only started in 1990 to distinguish the (real) Land-Rover from the Land-Rover Discovery. The basic vehicle stayed the same, but was known as OneTen (110) from 1983-1989. |

110'' I guess? Or is 110 something else than the other numbered models? (then we would have to rename the 110'' of the site) -- Last edit: 2006-01-09 22:13:34 |

110 in this case is the official name, not a complementary info related to the wheelbase. So I would say : no '' |

ben is right, even though it has a wheelbase of 110 inches the " was no longer used. In most publications it is actually written in words 'One Ten' (and 'Ninety' respectively). But this might confuse readers. |

Alexander and Ben are correct. From 1983-1989 the long wheelbase Land Rover with coil spring suspension as pictured was called the 'One-Ten', then fron 1990 onwards it was renamed the 'Defender 110'. One way to tell the difference from the front view is the badging. the strip badge just above the radiator grille changed, earlier models shoping 'Land Rover 110' and later models simply 'Defender'. In the case of the One-Ten, 110 does refer to the wheelbase (110") although it was never called a 110" Land Rover. for the short wheelbase, early models were called the 'Ninety', and later ones 'Defender 90', however in this case 90 does not refer to the actual wheelbase which is 92.9". Similarly the extended wheelbase version was originally called the 'One-Two-Seven' after its 127" wheelbase, but in 1990 was renamed the 'Defender 130' even though the wheelbase did not change. |
