On Studebakers , the door handles were placed within the beltline ,here they are placed under the beltline. The other puzzling points are the hood mascot seen on the left thumbnail and the large spoke wheels. Those are either Nash or La Salle.Because the shape of the headlights is more pointed than on Nashes and the beltline is strictly sraight I tend to go for a Fisher bodied 1931 La Salle Town Sedan but with all reservations , the pictures being too fuzzy.

I propose 1931 Cadillac Town Sedan, but only with a 50% certainty. That model has a similar profile to the movie car. In addition, the fuzzy hood mascot does resemble Cadillac's "Goddess" (the one with the flowing hair used from 1930-1933). On the down side, I can't make out any hood vent doors.

I agree that it could be a Cadillac. The shape of the windscreen posts and visor looks right. How does one tell a LaSalle from a Cadillac? I suppose one has to see the bonnet sides clearly.

Bodies for the early LaSalles (1927-1933) were practically identical to those of Cadillacs of the same year and body style. You really need to get a good front view of the cars to tell the difference between them (rectangular, vertical "V8" logo on the Cadillacs and circular "LaS" logo on the LaSalles) - check out this page: www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/mascotsj.htm
