1956 250 GT Berlinetta, early version Tour de France with 'wrap-around' rear window, bodied by Scaglietti.

I am not certain what the chassis number of this car would be, it has to be one of the cars listed here. I had contact with Ferrari historian Marcel Massini some years ago and showed him some movie production pictures, he thought it might be 0539GT. I think he could be right but I cannot find any historic pictures of 0539GT to confirm, only recent pictures where it has been rebodied to non-original specifications. If it is indeed 0539GT this movie would be a valuable source for restoration.
The car's body seems in very rough condition, obviously raced a lot in the years before, the racing number 8 is still visible on the sides. They deliberately crashed the front end of the car for the movie, although we do not actually get to see the crash in the film. It originally carries Italian registration '26140 BZ', then it is replaced with fake Italian plates to mislead the police: '4632 AD', 'AD 1 4632' and 'BZ 2 6140'. I noticed that the original registration is said to have belonged to 0647GT (source: Ferrari 250GT Tour de France, John Starkey, 2016). It cannot be that car however because 0647GT is one of the 1957 '14-Louvre' TdF. Perhaps the book contains an error, or the registration was swapped between the cars at the time; I guess we will never know.

Wow indeed! Trashed around like any old movie prop but who would have guessed in 1959 its value in a few decades time.
By the way really strong hints that this is 0539GT as suggested by MM. Check out the name of the first owner...

Hello, thank you for the info, do you have any historic pictures of 0539GT that you can share?
