Does not appear to be an authentic taxi. I do not see any RPO codes pertaining to Taxi service. However, maybe back in 11/95 those codes were not implemented yet? |

Most of the taxis seen in this show aren't real, except for the W123s. |

In general, both this and /vehicle.php?id=1689088 were excellent as taxis back then, based on personal experience, with or without the taxi package. The taxi package was mainly provided by Volvo or Mercedes-Benz, usually including but not limited to washable interior, beefier, often higher suspension, some special wiring and elctrics, and doors that would open wider. But the taxi owner was - and is - free to choose models. For this 320 it came with high-capacity battery and dynamo, making it suitable for a taxi. Else, with a lowered suspension... It has no meter, I think Bergen had gone digital by then, not even a display showing the price with a control unit fitted seperately. And for the uniform.... |
