Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was introduced in 1983 1/2 model year. Looks like aftermarket convertible conversion. |

Well, it might not necessarily be a true SS. There was never a Monte Carlo convertible offered by the factory, so this must be an outside conversion. If you're going to chop the top off a Monte Carlo, there's no reason not to replace the front clip with one from an SS while you're at it for that extra visual punch. |

From the looks of the rearview mirrors, it is 1983-85. They put the corvette mirrors on in 1986. You are right, there never was a convertible. |
