 Rare gem. 2011-2015 Chery J1 [A1]. These were a commercial failure during Chery's first attempts for the Australian market at the time. Our third AUS-spec J1 here.

Thankfully, Chery is coming back to Australia this year with fresh new products like the Omoda 5, Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. They've recently returned here in Indonesia this year and I have seen their lineup in-person.

 They're supposed to start sales this year in Germany at the earliest. It's a bit odd seeing a Chinese brand sell gasoline cars here, and I'm usually very skeptical of them, but 19 years of being the Chinese export champion actually sound promising.

 ...So the reason I've heard nothing for a year is because apparently Chery will be marketed as Omoda in Germany.

Their facebook page features strange hokey prose that probably sounded better in Chinese:
