Very difficult to tell from this picture what we have here. Possibilities are a Silver Dawn with coachbuilt drophead coupé, or a Silver Wraith. When the choice of builder might come down to the number and/or position of swage lines a poor quality image like this doesn’t help much. Please give me a little time to sort things out. (And to cook and eat my dinner.) -- Last edit: 2022-09-30 17:51:20 |

Silver Wraith/Park Ward is my suggestion. |

Couldn't it be this car by Franay? Link to "rmsothebys.com" |

^ The flat sides to the front wings suggest that this is so. There appear to have been only two dhcs built on the Silver Wraith chassis by Franay, WVA63, and LWAB63. Neither of these is mentioned at your reference, but if you add the L, then this might be it. |

I can't add anything useful from my RR picture book. Seems Franay bodied 4 Silver Wraiths and 4 Silver Wraith LWBs, but no indication of what these body styles were. 2-door DHCs from other folk used normal and LWB chassis - Park Ward for instance built 8 LWB examples. The horizontal boot features (lights and plate moulding) seen in thumb and the linked model look a good match, so whichever Franay this might be, it looks as if it was white in 1958. Chassis LWAB63's first short-lived Sedanca body by Poberejsky mentioned in the Sothebys blurb was a very strange creation - unsurprising it was quickly ditched. This is Franay's body on WVA63 which was white and supplied to Switzerland, but doesn't look as good a match and seems to be RHD. It's now black over tomato which looks seriously strange, and definitely RHD with UK FJH 679 plates. Linked pics from the Franay RR thread on Coachbuild.com My conclusion - LWAB63 seems very likely, but nothing found to suggest it had a white phase. |

I really can’t add any more, except to agree with your posting of the car without attribution of a chassis number. |
