If the radiator belonged to the car it is not a Ford. |

The radiator grille looks like it's from 1929/31 Chevrolet, but it does have a Ford's small block, so I tend to think it might have been based on Ford despite the grille, unless... Or it could be simply called Custom Made Stock car, as this seems to be a franken-car made out of many different parts and maybe even from different automakers. -- Last edit: 2022-10-23 23:27:26 |

Sosebee is a surprisingly common name in Georgia racing. Gober Sosebee was an early NASCAR driver from Georgia, retiring around 1959. His son David also raced in NASCAR, but was only 12 years old in 1967; probably too young to be building racecars. There was also a Katron Sosebee active in stock car racing at this time. A possible candidate for the builder of this car is Billy Sosebee, born 1933, died 2010. According to his obituary "He worked from 1963-2003 for Hardy Chevrolet in Gainesville [Georgia] and retired as the body shop manager" potentially putting him in a position to be building racecars. (Three other obituaries in Georgia for different William/Billy Sosebees born in 1929, 1935, and 1941 indicated no automotive connections) -- Last edit: 2022-10-24 01:56:16 |
