That definately is not an OSCA. There was and OSCA in the movie The Racers but not as a race car in that film. It was a sports car belonging to a race official or race fan who invited the race drivers portrayed by Kirk Douglas and Gilbert Roland to take for a joy ride. It was night, those two had been celebrating their victories of the day, were pretty drunk, and they ran the crap out of that little car. Seems to me that little car was blue and white, maybe just blue. |

From the race numberit can't be one of the cars in the 1952 monaco GP. It might be one of the cars in the support race which was for sportsrace was for sports cars up to 2 litres. I have limited information regarding the race entry. It could be the OSCA that Bordini drove into second place but it could also be an Alfa Romeo powered conrero if one ran in the race. I'll investigate further. |

Maybe 1953 Ghia 1900 Conrero Barchetta. I just made that up! Or 1953 Conrero Sport Ghia (see carrozzieri link at bottom) Based on this coupe Link to "www.carrozzieri-italiani.com" * Car has Alfa 1900 period engine but bespoke chassis by Virgilio Conrero and axles from Fiat 1400 (front) and Lancia Aurelia (back)! New barchetta body manufactured again from scratch by Ghia after it crashed and burned. I don't think it can be called an Alfa Romeo*. Doesn't look at all like the '52 Monaco GP Osca mentioned above  "...Swiss Robert Fehlmann gave Virgilio Conrero the task to create a car to participate in the XX Mille Miglia in 1953. Conrero made a tubular chassis and used a Fiat 1400 front axle, Lancia Aurelia rear axle and tuned an Alfa Romeo 1900 engine for it... Conrero went to his friend, Turinese engineer Giovanni Savonuzzi to create a body for the car. Savonuzzi modelled a bodywork in plasticine and turned to Ghia to be built...The car, driven by the duo Fehlmann-Vuille, started the XX Mille Miglia as number 453.... Some time later, the car got fire after being involved in an accident. This car is known as the 1953 Conrero-Alfa Romeo 1900 Supersonic. After the 1953 MM.. Ghia (? confirmation needed) added a new coach on the Conrero chassis. This time the design came from a guy called Koren (Anybody who knows more of this person?)
