I am gonna say that's about a 1982 Delta 88 per the grille texture and sport rearview mirrors. |

nope, its a 1976-1977 pontiac lemans, just like buford T justice drove in smokey and the bandit. the movie came out in 1983 but was set in 1978 so no 1982 cars would be in it. here's a pic of bufords car for proof. ![]() Edited (vilero): in comments use only thumbnails. I agree with Pontiac LeMans. The sides aren't flat enough to be an '82 Delta. -- Last edit: 2009-03-20 09:25:44 |

It seems to have a wider nose than the Buford car, unless that's just the way the scan was taken from a paused movie still (gotta love ITV4) I would bear in mind that although he film was supposedly set in 1978 (as it was in the book) the film was made in 1983 so a 1982 era car would not be out of place - getting the age of cars completely accurate was not a high priority on this movie. |

To revive the debate, it looks like a '76-'77 Pontiac LeMans to me, especially the shape of the hood. |
