I never know if we should use Contrac or Cobus as a brand for these. Contrac has morphed into Cobus Industries sometime in the 2010s, long after the 300 went out of production. But even in the 1990s the Contrac name only appeared on manufacturer plates, with "Cobus 300" labels elsewhere. I mean, it's like calling an early Smart Fortwo "Micro Compact Car Smart Fortwo" because the official company name was Micro Compact Car AG... |

By my own standards in my personal collection, I would list the one above as Contrac Cobus 300 and later ones just as Cobus 3000 (or whatever model is referred to). Contrac frequently used the company name, which is why it feels right to me treating them as the manufacturer of the older Cobus models. Apparently it's how we already list them: Contrac vs. Cobus. Edit: These buses are manufactured by Caetano in Portugal, who are a shareholder of Contrac Germany. -- Last edit: 2024-07-31 16:22:26 |
