Some of these were UK-bodied - Vanden Plas, Park Ward, Weymann, maybe others. Mix of 2 dr, 4 dr, tourer, saloon, dhc amongst them and I've no idea if any looked like this one. But VdP did a batch of 3 DISS "3 door Sports" (whatever that means?) in mid 1927. |

^ What it means is that the car might have two doors, i.e. one front and one back, on one side, and only one door on the other. The “missing” door would normally be situated (if it can be both missing and situated, but you know what I mean), by the driver’s position. The outside handbrake and gear lever would be in the way of a door opening, so they just didn’t make one. BTW, not this one. It’s a two seater drophead coupé with a dickey seat by the look of it. See here: - back door, (v. small) but no front door. But if you look at the near side, via the link in the entry for this Bentley, front door but no back door. /vehicle_559807-Bentley-3-Litre-RE1400-1927.html -- Last edit: 2022-12-01 08:47:28 |

Browsing Delage DISS on coachbuild.com comes up with a couple of similar-looking creations from Victor Broom. Never heard of him before, but apparently built things in NW London, 1924-29 - Delages are mentioned along with Hispano-Suiza, Bentley, Invicta and Minerva. |

The one piece windscreen mitigates against Victor Broom, the curved shape of the front wings looks a bit Park Ward, but the treatment of the back doesn’t. |

I have contacted the Delage Owners Club, and await their response. |

Suggests it still exists somewhere - maybe in a museum or private collection - so someone today should know the actual car. DVLA says "Export marker No", but googling DISSes showed a handful in Aus which may have been originally UK based. |

I have a suggestion from Mr. Colin Swinbourne of the Delage register, can I please be left with this for a day to see what further I can dig up. jfs |
