Am I seeing 'SAAB' script at the front fender? |

In Italy it is easier to meet a Saab 96 in this era at an old car meeting as some have been imported by collectora that at the time. I remember the first one I saw with Italian plate in 1976 and was in "Verona green". |

It would be a part of the 1971 trim upgrade Seems to have 1972 all rubber bumper buffers, but not the 1973 badge |

I still remember the very first Saab I saw in my life wehen I was about nine... so in 1970. It was going inside the ferry to Sicily from the souther continental harbor of Italy. It was in a sort of sky blue, quite similar to a shade VW recently used in the Up! with inside a very blond smiling family. At the time I was not yet able to recognize most foreigh cars but I bet it was Scandinavian. I don't remember more. |
