"Diesel" wasn't the model name. |

Is it a 245? |

I wouldn't say that so confidently, atom knows more about Volvos than you or I do. I guess it's a similar case to the North American DLs and GLs of the 80s. |

They do certainly exist https://www.garaget.org/?car=69172&image=629668 , but as often with specific models, it's difficult to find accurate pictures. I clearly remember Diesel versions, but they were not common where I lived. Apparently the Diesel versions of the 760 were marketed as "Volvo 760 GLE Turbodiesel", whereas the Diesel versions of the 240 were marketed as "VOLVO DIESEL" as can be seen on manuals Link to "img.tradera.net" . I wasn't aware of that. -- Last edit: 2022-12-22 11:07:50 |

They were badged as 244/245 GL D6 between 1979-1982 and DIESEL for 1983-1985. However some brochures calls them simply Diesel and some 240 so I'm not 100% sure how they should be named to be listed correctly. Maybe call them 240 Diesel to play it safe. 1979 emblem and brochure: ![]() 1980-1982 emblem (1980 pictured): ![]() 1980 brochure: ![]() 1983-1985 emblem (1984 pictured): ![]() ![]() 1983 NL brochure, called both Volvo 240 Diesel and Volvo Diesel: ![]() ![]() Same for 1984 NL brochure: ![]() ![]() |
